Welcome to the first-ever edition of The Rouser, a monthly update about all things BBB.

If you’re a member you may be asking what’s different about this compared to the monthly meeting minutes that are sent to members? Well, the minutes are a formal record of everything discussed at the meeting. This is a more casual, informative piece of content that will keep you updated with everything new plus be a source of information for non-members looking to learn more about us and how they can get involved.

AGM update

A few changes this year.

After a great 6 years, Dave has stepped down. I would personally like to thank Dave for his service to the society in this position. Dave is still about and will continue to be an active member.

Monthly meetings

It would be great to see some new faces, plus some of the older ones who haven’t been to a meeting in a while. We meet at 8 pm upstairs in Battle club on the first Thursday of the month.

One change to this, however, is our June meeting which due to the extra bank holiday will be on Thursday 9th June

The big weekend is being condensed to one day (think small weekend) but is set to be a great event with lots going on. We need lots of stalls raising money for BBB so if you can run a stall please contact Michael or Jodie.

We have a new fundraising officer who is keen to help us get lots of new events going. We have a zoom meeting at 8pm on Tuesday 19th April to plan some new events.

Dates for your diary

Tuesday April 19th – fundraising meeting on zoom

Sunday April 24th – Summer Fayre / Big Weekend meeting at Battle Recreation ground at 10 am. This is to check on stalls and put plans in place. Many hands make light work so please come along

Thursday May 5th monthly meeting 8pm upstairs at battle club. New members welcome to come along and join

Sunday 15th May – BBB vs Battle Cricket Club. Cricket match at Battle Cricket Pitch. Players wanted, spectators encouraged to come and cheer us on.

Saturday June 25th is the little big weekend with the Summer Fayre, dog show and entertainment (help needed)

Sunday September 4th – BBB 10k. If you can marshal, please let us know. Last year, we didn’t get enough volunteers and had to pay for private security to cover road closure positions. You are only needed for a couple of hours, and this is a big fundraiser for BBB


New members are encouraged and welcome. We ask those wanting to join to attend a meeting to be voted in. Children are not required to attend when taking out family membership.
