Over the years, Battel has had tons of Badges, here is a collection of most of them



1986 - `1686-1986` - 36mm Round
Designer: Mike Butler
created for the then believed 300 anniversary before we found records dating back to 1646.

1989 - Year Badge - 36mm Round
Designer: Mike Butler
This was the last year to feature this skull design which had curving text for both `Battel` and `Bonfire Boyes`.

Then Fundraising Secretary, Dave Wilson, took over badge design and from this point on, each year had a difference look.

Hard to see in this image, but at the top of the badge is MCMXVI, roman Numerals for 1996. It was was more pricy to produce to the use of more colours. Something which was later delt with.

This year featured not only a new style Skull and crossbones design, but a new printing method so as to give full colour without high producing costs.

Taking it easy this year, this was the same as the last year but the background colour

Again, simpler to the 1997 & 1998 but with a fancy grainted colour effect and highlighting colours on the logo.

For the first year badge of the new millennium we had Guy Fawkes face to face with our skull, a bit like him facing his death.

This years badge was designed to look like a Saxon shield.

In 2003, the badge design was done to show the sussex Coat of arms with a Skull and Crossbones infront

This badge was done to relect an much older design used by the Bonfire Boyes, that of the Abbey Gatehouse with the Skull and Crossbones infront.

2005 - Year Badge - 36mm Round

This badge was done showing Guy Fawkes with gunpowder in the background marking 400 years since the 1605 Gunpowder plot.

2006 - Year Badge - 36mm Round

Assistant Webmaster Ryan Mascord takes over badge design with this one based on the old Seal of Battle Abbey.

2007 - Year Badge - 36mm Round

This years badge was designed to show the Abbey gateway surrounded by the classic Skull and Crossbone BBB Logo.

2008 - Year Badge - 36mm Round

Featuring a more cartoon style, this years showed a Hand holding a Burning Match with a gunpowder Barrel

2009 - Year Badge - 36mm Round

This year carried on the cartoony style featuring Guy Fawkes by the light of his un`darkened lantern`.

The 2010 badge featured King Harold in front of a bonfire, note the skull and Crossbones in the background.

2011 - Year Badge - 36mm Round

The 2011 badge featured a Saxon and a Convict on a Fire/flame background, with BBB 2011 clearly written on it.




2009 - Juniors Year Badge - 36mm Round

This was the first badge of the newly created Juniors Section

This was the second Badge for the Juniors Section.

2010 - Convict Badge - 36mm Round
Designer: Alan Jay and Alistair Endersby
This badge was created for the Convict section of Battel Bonfire, due the Bonfire boyes second outfit being a convict.

Like the First Convict badge, this badge features a different but simular design.

2005 - 1605 Badge - 36mm Round
Designer: David Wilson
Created as a one off without any specific year, this badge was made to carry the date of the gunpower plot, featuring BBB`s Classic look of Guy Fawkes.

1986(Appx) - 44mm Round

A Large `genertic` BBB Badge

1996 - 58mm Round
Designed to replace the old 44mm Large White, this one is bigger and features the logo With the abbey. 11 were made in the set: Pink, Orange, off-white, Light Blue, Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Tan, Green & bright Orange.

1989 - 36mm Round

Designed for the Summer Fayre in 1989, these were part of a `set` of 4




Late 1940s - ??mm Round
The Earliest recorded Badges and said to be the first ones produced.

1960s - 25mm Round
These are the some of the earliest known BBB Badges, which are pretty plain and just feature a black Skull and crossbones on a coloured background. Thanks to Mr Paul Edmonds for loan of these badges.

1970s - 25mm Round
an update from the 60s Design, this 1970s badges feature BBB writen on them. Part of a known set of 4 Thanks to Mr Paul Edmonds for loan of these badges.

2000s - 36mm Round
Set of 3 badges created in the 2000s as genertic badges to invoke the style of the 80s `curvled` lettered Badges

2000s - 36mm Round

1981 - Enamel - 25mm Round
Created in 1981, these Enamels originally came in 7 colours, (Black, Red, Green, Blue, Light blue, Yellow & Pink) as well as a committee one with black and white reversed.

2002 - `Banner` Enamel - 25mm Shaped
Designed to replace the old 80s Enamels, this series started in Red, based on one of the Battel Banners.

2004 - `Banner` Enamel - 25mm Shaped
Second in the series of `Banner Enamels` this one is in Black with a Silver trim.

2006 - `Banner` Enamel - 25mm Shaped
Part of the Series of `Banner Enamels`. This one is Green with a copper trim.

2007 - `Banner` Enamel - 25mm Shaped
Part of the Series of `Banner Enamels`. This one is Glitter Purple with a Silver trim.

2010 - `Banner` Enamel - 25mm Shaped
Part of the Series of `Banner Enamels`. This one is Havana Brown with a Black trim.




2005 - `Oval` Enamel
Created to Celebrate the 400th Anniversay of the Gunpowder plot, this badge was made for a special limited run.

2000s - Pewter Guy - 37mm shaped
Created as a very limited edition with only 50 made, which sold out quickly.
