The Battel Bonfire Boyes held a Dad`s Army Dance at the Claverham Community
College, North Trade Road, Battle on Saturday 19th September. It started at 7pm and ran to 11pm.
The Bonfire Boyes encouraged those wishing to go, to enter into the spirit of the evening by
wearing 1940s style uniforms and period costumes.
Lindy Hoppers of the Cinque Ports plaied live music with a 1940s DJ playing peirod Music. A Licensed
bar was avavilable. Tickets, in the form of ration tickets, were £15, which included a light
buffet and raised about £1,000.
The Event was organised by Debbie Haines and Stella Ludlow, with help on the night by Paddy, Matt, Amy,
Kerry, Emma, Sarah and sandwish makers.
